Steven is originally from Pennsylvania, home of the Declaration of Independence, cheesesteaks and the city of brotherly love. After moving west in 2016, he was inspired to study Chinese Medicine by his acupuncturist and mentor, Dr. Joy Wu and by first-hand experience with traditional healing while traveling in Peru.

While practicing acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Steven is also completing the doctoral program at the Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College in Berkeley. He’s a published author and intuitive healer specializing in relieving pain, stress and related symptoms caused by serious illness, as well as treating the many other conditions we see every day in the clinic. His work and life are geared toward serving our community and he has a special gift for connecting with people and seeing the light in everyone. Outside of work, he likes wandering in nature and lounging on the couch with his wife, Tania, and their cat, Rocky.

Skyler grew up in the rugged hills of coastal Northern California, body surfing in cold water and getting lost in the woods.

Like most acupuncturists in the US, he fell into the craft. He had little to no exposure to Chinese medicine while growing up but years of practicing martial arts and Qigong (Chinese ‘Yoga’) had primed him to be curious about acupuncture, and once he started getting treatments those needles caught him, hook line and sinker.

Skyler got his Master’s in Chinese Medicine from the Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College, Berkeley in 2018, and has made good use of his numerous work and athletics related injuries to inform his treatment methods. He uses his experience and his foundations in qigong to understand his patients and treat their concerns effectively. He especially enjoys helping people with injuries of all kinds, acute and chronic pain, emotional traumas such as shock, loss or fear and other conditions that deeply impact quality of life.
